About US

Originally The Stable Bar was the stable’s where the horses from the coaching inn at the front were kept. The carriages were kept in the barrel houses that are adjacent to the property and the stable boys would sleep on the upstairs floor. The property took a turn in occupancy and became a Bar after a refurbishment in 1972, however was then closed in 1981. In 2003 we bought the Stable Bar and after a major refurbishment, it re-opened as a bar in 2007. The development has continued as The Stable Bar was taken over in 2015 and refurbished to become its own business and independent bar and restaurant.

Here at The Stable Bar, we try to source the most local products and ingredients. Working closely with our suppliers to ensure the best quality and freshest food.

Our supplier’s list is as follows:

Butchers:   Beaman’s of 46 High Street Bridgnorth using Bridgnorth Beef & Lamb and Claverley Pure Gloucester Old Spot Pork.

Fruit & Vegetables:   All our fruit & vegetables are hand picked by our chefs from local markets.

Fish:  Birmingham Market (mainly fished around UK).

Wines:   Tanners Shrewsbury.

Ale:  Bridgnorth Brewery & Local Breweries.

Bookings can be taken online for tables of up to and including 5 people, up to 24 hours ahead. Please contact us by telephone or email regarding tables of 6 or more. ‘Walk In’ tables may be available outside of busier times, but it’s always safest to make a booking.

Vouchers are available in denominations of £10, £20, £50 and £100. Please telephone us during office hours to purchase either vouchers or books, both of which can be sent by post.
